Yesterday I posted a blog titled: A Quick Take Away: “In” It was taken from Philippians 1:1 “Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons”. The word “IN” is two letters and one syllable long yet very powerful here in this verse. According to Strong’s it denotes a fixed position (in place, time, or state). In other words it is a position that is permanate or unchanging. And that is a great thing because it could be transitory or moving around. If it was in a state of transition it could be moving here, there, or anywhere whenever it felt like going.
So the possiblity of being in such a state of flux does not appeal to me since I want to be IN Christ Jesus. I don’t want to be out of His will, I want to be in the center of His will for example. But it got me to thinking about that verse over in Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Because we are IN Christ Jesus the things that are listed here they cannot separate us.
If we were on the outside clinging on like some leach then yeah we could be separated, scrapped off, burned off, ripped off, or washed off. Just flat out removed. Being ‘on’ is only temporary at best.
But being IN Christ Jesus, this fixed place, is a permanate situation. Something would have to be able to go INside of Christ in order ot remove us. For example someone who has cancer typically the doctor has to go inside the body where the cancer is located. If you have a heart problem, somehow some way the doctor has to get inside in order to get to it. Be it by means of a scapel, or needle, or medication he has got to go inside in order to work on you.
Good news Jesus is perfect flawless and has never known a sick day in His life. He is eternal. And we by no means are a problem for Him like cancer or heart disease would be because He is God. Since we don’t ever have to worry about Jesus dieing our position is safe and secure as long as we are IN Christ Jesus.
Because we are IN we are not ‘out’. If you are saved that is. And I am sorry but if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior then you are on the outside looking IN. While this life may seem like the place to be; that this is where the “in-crowd” is to be found, it is not. Because this life leads into eternity there are only two possibilities for people to go. For those who are IN Christ Jesus that destination is heaven. While for those who have chosen to remain “IN” this world hell awaits for you to enter “IN” to it. And there is no escape from there.
So long as you are IN this life however everone has the chance to come to Jesus and ask Him to save them. All you have to do is accept the fact you are a hell bound sinner and need Him to save you and then ask Jesus to save you. Jesus has promised that whosoever calls upon Him shall be saved, Romans 10:13.
Which “IN” are you IN?
