A Quick Take Away: Joy in Life

Philippians 1:1-30

Paul started off his letter to the Philippians by stating he was a servant to Jesus Christ and ended the first chapter showing the kind of leader he was. Different things will come our way, some good, some bad, and some in between. It is how we deal with these things that will bring joy to our lives. In this chapter four times he used the word joy or rejoice. Paul spoke of it as having joy with these people, wanting them to fulfill his joy by their obedience to Christ, he spoke of his joy in obedience to Christ, and his future plans of having even more joy by continuing to live as Jesus would have him live. That is the advantage of serving a risen Savior, we have much to be joyful about.
