Philippians 2:7 “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men”
The Bible says “made himself of no reputation” or Jesus emptied Himself of His glory, not His deity.
– He never used His deity for His own gain.
– He did not become prone to committing errors, just limitations. He grew as a normal child but without our mistakes and sins.
– In fact He came as a“servant” or bondslave. To whom? To God, see Isa. 52:13; Ps. 40:7,8. But not to man; only once (John 13:4) did He do such a thing and that as an illustration to teach us.
– He didn’t have to make His own reputation because the Father already had it for Him.
