Cha-cha-cha-changes

I was thinking this morning about some things that have changed over the years. Back in the fall of 1993 I went off to college. There in the computer room was a display of the different size floppy disks that had been created. For you young folks floppy disks are what programs were stored on so your computer could run. They had the old 8 inch floppy with the year it was released, the 5 1/4 inch floppy and it’s info, the 3 1/2 diskette which at the time was the thing to have, and finally the soon to be released 1 inch floppy disk. Each floppy disk had way more storage space on it than the previous. The last one didn’t get far to my knowledge because the CD-rom took hold and soon the writable CD took over. In the process of trying to increase the storage capacity of the CD the DVD was discovered. Soon flash drives came along and the digital wave that CD’s ad ushered in broke in and the MP3 washed away much of the landscape. Change is real and can move pretty quickly.
With all the change we have to deal with in this life, and this was just one example, there is one constant in this world.  Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not”. God does not change. Time may have passed but He exists outside of time so what is going on now to Him is also what was going on 1000 years ago and will be going on 10 years from now all at once.
Jesus, who is God in the flesh, said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the father, but by me.” Two thousand years after He made that statement He is still the only way to Heaven. Whatever is new is not true and whatever is true is not new. Truth does not change and it is constant, our opinions can vary but do not change the nature of truth and God is truth. Life does not come from nothing. God made mankind and breathed life into the lifeless body, Genesis 2:7. God created life only on Earth, sorry but while water might be on other planets life will not be found on Mars or any other planet.
While this TRUTH may hurt someone’s feelings the best thing to do is to change beliefs. God only accepts one way into Heaven and that is by the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross of Calvary to offer salvation to who ever is willing to accept this needed change in their life. God will not force Himself on anyone, He will accept a person’s decision to refuse to change and allow them to enter Hell by their own choice.
