Christian porn

Christian porn??? Did I really just write those two words together? Yes I did. Lately I have been seeing a great many blogs and other posts about porn. So at this point I figured it was my turn to write about it.
Let me just say in advance a couple of things. 1. I am going to make some people mad with my view. 2. I expect people especially women to say that men shouldn’t be looking. 3. I have no intention of debating my views which are Biblically founded.
I called this writing Christian porn for a reason, that being because to me it seems to be more of a problem with Christian women than worldly women. Worldly women don’t seemingly try to sugar coat it. Yes a great many have some modesty about themselves and don’t try to show off what they got but let’s be honest it wasn’t that long ago that a boy would have to beg a girl to get a peek at her underwear. Now go on social media sites and freely see what is underneath that.
Christian women however are doing the sugar coated thing. No not all but the numbers are growing. By sugar coating I am not talking about showing skin, though that is prevalent in most church’s. For the record ladies if you are satisfied that all you see in the mirror is a little shadow of cleavage please keep in mind that generally you are shorter than the men in the church and do to the difference in height we see a lot more skin than you think. This idea that in order to look good and be comfortable the outfit must be form fitting. It may be comfortable but what you are doing is showing off what you got.
I left a church one time because I grew tired of one young lady who was related to the pastor always coming in wearing outfits so tight that nothing was left to the imagination. Her skin was covered but every single curve of her body was on full display. She was beautiful and wanted everyone to know it.
Wearing such outfits is Christian porn. The woman who wears such is deceiving herself and leading others into the temptation of lust. This is where the women start saying men shouldn’t look. Sorry but we do and it is Biblical. That is right, see Genesis 3:1-6 six verses for satan to convince Eve to sin. Only 4 words to show Adam falling into sin. Why? Because he had already looked. The woman had to be convinced it was ok to do it the man saw what the woman had done, saw what he wanted, and ran with it. Doesn’t make what Adam did right nor does it make it right when a man lusts after a woman who is displaying her body in such a way but it is still the truth.
Men are visual, that is how we are wired. Matthew 5:28 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Jesus acknowledged men look and lust. I am not muslim but at least their women are not trying to let the whole world know what they got. And that breaks my heart that as a Christian I find myself referencing a cult in such a matter. Now I do not agree with their treatment of women I am simply pointing out the required modesty.
Speaking if required modesty, is it required for Christian women? It’s just a moral principal, isn’t it? Well Paul was concerned about it and wrote Timothy a young pastor how to instruct his congregation when it came to a dress code. 1 Timothy 2:9 “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety…”. Perhaps we should look at the words here in this verse to make sure about what we are talking about. Adorn means to put in order or decorate. Modest means good behavior or modest. Apparel means costume, dress, or apparel (clothes). Shamefacedness is talking about a sense of shame or honor, modesty, bashfulness, reverence, respect, regard for others. With sobriety talking about soundness of mind, self-control, and sobriety. In other words Paul writing under inspiration of the Holy Spirit is informing the Christian woman she is to not dress like the world, she is to not be showing the showing her body off nor giving free samples with form fitting clothes, and yes men shouldn’t be looking. But let’s face facts if it is on display or samples are available men will look.
There are men who could care less about how a woman dresses, and not because they are gay but because sex in any form is just not tempting. These men are more the exception to the rule than the rule. Yes men should be growing closer to the Lord and seeking Him but dressing in immodest clothes hurts their efforts in remaining pure. And for some men sex is an addiction, someone told me years ago that it has been shown to be a stronger addiction than crack cocaine.
My point is this; porn is not just sex acts in print or on a screen. Porn can manifest itself in anyway possible and the allure is strong. Even women can be attracted to porn but generally it is the men dealing with it. And dealing with Christian porn in church shouldn’t be, people are already going there with enough baggage and shouldn’t be getting an eye full more to add to their woes.
I do not mean to be rude or anything here but if this post gas caused offence perhaps it is because a closer look in the mirror is needed.
