Changing of the guard

A few months back I wrote about the soon coming need to replace the Bible I keep in my delivery truck. It was pretty beat up. Still lots of room inside it’s pages for taking notes but the cover was in bad shape. Even the duct tape that I had applied some time back was falling apart.
So to start the new year off a newer Bible has been brought in.

Still a King James Version, just newer as in physical quality.
Over in the book of Joshua in 1:2 we read “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.”  This is the changing of the guard. Moses was the last of the previous generation that had showed a lack of faith in God. He had been used of God to lead the people but at one critical point his faith wavered and it cost him the chance to enter Canaan.
Joshua and Caleb on the other hand had kept their faith in God and now Joshua was being put in charge of the people by God and both he and Caleb would cross over as living testimonies of faithfulness to God and God’s faithfulness to His promises.
