Where is it at for you?

Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” This verse is the summary of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Would you take note of the last 2 words, “at hand”. to be at hand tells us that something is within our grasp. The ability to take possession exists for us.

Jesus didn’t say that the kingdom of heaven was by your head. A head knowledge will only get you so far. James 2:19 “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” This verse talks about having a head knowledge.
The devils have seen God up close and personal. While they are in their fallen state and are fighting against God and His plans they do at least tremble. A person who only has a head knowledge though generally won’t even do that.

There can also be a heart knowledge. The kingdom of heaven is in your heart. This is a person who has gotten a hold on the fact that they need Jesus and have accepted Him as their saviour. Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

A great many will leave this world with the kingdom still at hand, not even knowing that there was a way of escape from eternity in hell. That will be because no one will have ever shown them the kingdom is at hand. Many will die lost in their sins with a head knowledge and miss Heaven by 18 inches, the average distance from the head to the heart. It will have been in their grasp but that is all.

How about you dear reader, where is the kingdom of heaven at for you?
