When we attend a funeral service so often people speak of things they remember about the departed, a part of their legacy. What if we flipped that over? Instead those who have passed from this life knowing OUR LEGACY. That with each thing we did or didn’t do we understood that was going off into eternity with them
1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
Those works that Paul speaks of are our lasting legacy. In a few years no one in this life will still be around that actually knew you. History itself is not only written by the victor’s but also by the revisionist’s. So even if you were famous a couple hundred years from now you might be thought of as the exact opposite of what you really were. In eternity that will not be the case. Make a good lasting legacy while you can.
