Each year we celebrate a holiday here in America called Labor Day. It is to honor those who have fought so hard in the paat for us to have the labor laws and practices we enjoy today. So it is a bit ironic that we get a long weekend off of our labor.
Labor comes in many forms, that is for sure. I remember in the book of Judges how Samson was one day captured by his enemy the Philistines, 16:21 records it this way “But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.”
Having been captured by the enemy his labor was now directed toward their cause. Their purposes were now being met. I would call them some of the worst possible bosses to have.
Spiritually speaking we are always laboring. We are either laboring for God, our effort are for Satan and his bunch because we are part of his bunch, or we are slacking off from serving God (raking it easy) as a result we are really laboring for Satan anyway. So, who are we really laboring for?
